Pisces Full Moon: 9.20.21

By Amber R. Balk, Ph.D.

Today’s Piscean Full Moon peaks at 4:55 PDT.

Pisces Moon opposes Virgo Sun after joining with Neptune, also in Pisces.

These events occur almost exactly 12 hours apart.

Dreamy, indeed!

“Neptune is associated with the transcendent, spiritual, ideal, symbolic, and imaginative dimensions of life; with the subtle, formless, intangible, and invisible; with the unitive, timeless, immaterial, and infinite” (p. 96).

Tarnas, Richard. (2006). cosmos & psyche: intimations of a new world view. New york: penguin.

Neptune is also considered the modern ruler of Pisces.

Pisces is a water sign.

Pisces is sensitive; perceptive in an intuitive way, like detecting subtle vibrations in water.

The image that comes to my mind is of spending time near quiet waters, perhaps during a liminal moment, such as sunrise or sunset.

Purples, electric blues, and inky shadows gently, yet powerfully, raise your vibration.

There’s a humming in your forehead.

The energies are soft and slow-moving.

Partially, this is because of the time of the year.

This week we approach the Gateway into the Dark time of the year

in the northern hemisphere–

(we approach the Gateway into the Light time of the year in the southern hemisphere).

Before we cross the threshold, we have an opportunity to take stock of our lives.

What has come to pass and is now asking for release?

Some deaths need to be acknowledged and embraced.

What seeds should be pressed into the still-warm, rich and fertile dark soils of our psyches?

This Full Moon brings gifts from the depths within.

It’s a great time to sit in stillness.

See what emerges.

Ask what needs to be released and re-cycled.

Ask what dreams and wishes want to be nurtured next.

Contributing to this stillness is Mercury approaching its station Retrograde.

Mercury will Retrograde from September 27th until October 18th

from 25 degrees of Libra back to Libra 10.

Mercury won’t pass its station point of 25 degrees Libra until November 2nd,

so this process will unfold from now until then.

Already, it is moving much slower than in the past few months.

Retrograde Mercury encourages slowing down, revising, re-visiting, restructuring, and reorganizing.

Mercury was at 10 degrees of Libra on September 6, 2021, so look to events and communications that took place around that time, and you may pick up hints on what in particular needs further attention and revision.

But that can come later this week.

For now, let the undulating Neptunian waves of Piscean Full Moon flow freely and without the constraint of worries.

Remember the overarching tensions of Saturnine structure and tradition versus Uranian innovation and change that are heightened throughout 2021.

In contrast, the dreamy, imaginative ripples of today’s Full Moon may feel untethering.

Yet, if you can breathe into the boundarilessness,

there could be otherworldly gifts and insights that can help indicate creative ways forward.

Something bigger… something wiser might come through.

This could feel surprisingly heart-expanding and may help long-term plans unfold with greater vision, connectedness, and Beauty.

I am an independent scholar and transpersonal consultant, specializing in embodying and implementing transpersonal and feminist values in real-world, practical situations. I believe academic pursuits are best if made widely accessible and when applied in ways which promote sustainability, contribute to increased awareness, and engender holistic sensitivity to both the outer environment and one's inner workings. I work with INDIVIDUALS in one-on-one sessions so they may empower themselves through deepening spiritual practice, accessing creativity, and attuning to self-understanding. Additionally, I work within GROUP contexts with people who endeavor to co-create social change through community action projects that honor the depth of subjective individuality while anchoring action within a more transpersonal, environmentally-minded context. I enjoy being a Hermit when I can and becoming more deeply familiar with this place we call home, beautiful Mother Earth.

This blog is a place to cover topics such as consciousness, spirituality, psychospiritual process, creativity, Grofian theory, Jungian thought, expanded states of consciousness, holistic health, dreamwork, symbolism, archetypes, synchronicity, and much more. I believe (and have experienced) that the microcosm reflects the macrocosm; as above, so below; as within, so without.
