6.10.21 Gemini New Moon Annular Solar Eclipse

By Amber R Balk, Ph.D.

I’m writing this the day after our recent Gemini New Moon, which was also an annular solar eclipse.

Both new moons and eclipses are liminal moments between the closing of one cycle and the beginning of another.

Even though the actual event has occurred, the eclipse energies have been activated for 3-6 months, and the most noticeable effects will continue to unfold for the next 6 months.

Additionally, eclipses are part of longer cycles.

Another solar eclipse occurred at 19 Gemini on June 10, 2002. Think back to what was happening in your life at that time and see if there are similar themes at play.

The 2002 Gemini solar eclipse was also conjunct Saturn. So, the immediate feel is quite different now.

The current Gemini solar eclipse was conjunct Mercury.

Gemini is a sign that pays attention to details and makes connections between things that others might not catch.

When you’re paying attention, synchronicity abounds.

It’s simply the nature of reality, but it’s kind of the most obvious secret out there.

Everything is connected and meaningful.

(If I sound like a Gemini, it’s because I am. I have both natal Sun and Mercury in Gemini.)

Ruled by Mercury, Gemini is cerebral and brimming over with words, thoughts, and great ideas.

This eclipse may have ushered in many exciting thought seeds.

New ways of looking at old issues may have swirled the ethers.

The Mercurial vibe may also have initiated travel plans, communications, and social interactions.

It’s also important to bear in mind that Mercury is currently in retrograde, so there could be some frustrations if you’re trying to push through things too quickly.

Best to slow down, revisit, reschedule, and realign at this time.

I’ve heard from many folks recently who have expressed that they have been experiencing a lot of stress and anxiety.

Certainly, the frenetic Gemini energies + Mercury retrograde can contribute to overwhelm.

It’s also important to remember that 2021’s biggest transit– Saturn square Uranus– is nearing the second exact square as Saturn retrogrades back into direct contact on June 14th.

The sense I’ve gotten with this is that many folks have committed to various exciting changes and life renovations but have recently hit some road bumps, delays, and detours.

Trust that, while frustrating, these are important opportunities to tune into a deeper process discerning the soul paths being chosen at this time.

This particular new moon and eclipse have been challenging for me to feel into in an objective way, as it has all been conjuncting my natal sun.

Thus, I have experienced an influx of immense excitement and solar renewal.

Castor & Pollux of the Gemini Constellation

In 2002 I was making major choices that steered my life and career on very particular paths.

With another solar eclipse hitting my natal Sun, it seems I’ve reached a crossroads and have an opportunity to return to some unfulfilled dreams that I had carried at that time.

I feel reconnected with some deeply soulful desires to manifest my creative force in a whole new way.

I’m holding it close and tending to the precious sparks of inspiration by only sharing the specifics with very few trusted folks, but the process has been ecstatically effervescent and enlivening.

I trust that.

✨🥰✨

It’s especially fascinating to look back to 2002 and see how the seeds were there, but I veered away from my soul’s desires due to fear and practicality.

Yet, it doesn’t feel like mistakes were made.

Instead, it feels like I choose a particular route, and it has enriched the overall journey.

But now it is time to return to the source of the soul seeds I carry for this lifetime, and continue deepening into a more fearlessly devoted dedication to them.

And when I think of it like that, I feel solar starbursts erupting from my core.

I know the journey ahead holds immense Beauty, awe, mystery, and pleasure.

~In other news~

I see interesting threads of liberating breaks with convention in the collective–

In particular, the breakthrough technology that will allow commercial flight into space has captured my attention and ignited hope for humanity.

Many astronauts have reported transcendental transpersonal experiences when they get into space.

These are rigorously trained scientists. People who compartmentalize. Rational folks who aren’t necessarily keen to wax poetic or publicly gush over spiritual experiences.

Yet, in space gazing at the wholeness of our beautiful blue planet, they realize the inherent unity of all life on earth.

They suddenly have clear felt-sense epiphanies about our place in the cosmos.

The perspective shifts from an egoic “me,” to “my god, we are one.”

It’s the kind of stuff you hear after a meditation retreat, a holotropic breathwork module, or some really amazing psychedelic therapy!

If more folks can access this holotropic shift through merely traveling to space, it could help humanity to open to more love, more kindness, more cooperation, and more respect and reverence for life.

I’ll most likely elaborate more fully on these thoughts in my upcoming Saturn square Uranus: Round II post for next week.

(See my Saturn square Uranus 2021: Part I here.)

For now, I just wanted to briefly mention it because it’s on my radar and bringing such enchanting hope.

(Of course, there are also shadow elements, but the potential benefits are definitely more alluring than the potential pitfalls at this point…)

There’s a new space race as Virgin Galactic’s Richard Branson and Blue Origin’s Jeff Bezos compete for first mission to space.

Personally, I’m a fan of Branson’s bright-hearted and adventurous approach and hope Virgin Galactic wins the race.

(Following quote from https://www.virgingalactic.com/purpose/)

“Virgin Galactic recognizes that the answers to many of the challenges we face in sustaining life on our beautiful but fragile planet, lie in making better use of space.

Sending people to space has not only expanded our understanding of science, but taught us amazing things about human ingenuity, physiology and psychology.

From space, we are able to look with a new perspective both outward and back. From space, the borders that are fought over on Earth are arbitrary lines. From space it is clear that there is much more that unites than divides us.”

✨🌍✨

Thank you for joining me in cosmic contemplations.

May the energies serve your health and wholeness.

May you be filled with awe for Beauty.

May the cosmos stir your deepest soul sparks and ignite pleasure, peace, and hope.

I am an independent scholar and transpersonal consultant, specializing in embodying and implementing transpersonal and feminist values in real-world, practical situations. I believe academic pursuits are best if made widely accessible and when applied in ways which promote sustainability, contribute to increased awareness, and engender holistic sensitivity to both the outer environment and one's inner workings. I work with INDIVIDUALS in one-on-one sessions so they may empower themselves through deepening spiritual practice, accessing creativity, and attuning to self-understanding. Additionally, I work within GROUP contexts with people who endeavor to co-create social change through community action projects that honor the depth of subjective individuality while anchoring action within a more transpersonal, environmentally-minded context. I enjoy being a Hermit when I can and becoming more deeply familiar with this place we call home, beautiful Mother Earth.

This blog is a place to cover topics such as consciousness, spirituality, psychospiritual process, creativity, Grofian theory, Jungian thought, expanded states of consciousness, holistic health, dreamwork, symbolism, archetypes, synchronicity, and much more. I believe (and have experienced) that the microcosm reflects the macrocosm; as above, so below; as within, so without.
