Aries New Moon: April 11, 2021

by Amber R. Balk, Ph.D.

Today Sun & Moon come together in the sky forming an Aries New Moon and marking the beginning of another ~28-day lunation cycle.

The New Moon phase and the zodiacal sign of Aries both are associated with new beginnings & initiating projects.

Fresh, inspirational newness energy is especially underscored at this time.

It is a wonderful time to actively get un-stuck.

There is a bit of an Aries party happening at the moment with Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus, and Chiron all dancing through this fiery, adventurous, fun-loving sign.

Remember that shadow Aries can get carried away.

Risks may be taken. Fortune may favor the bold. Or not…

Sometimes when Aries gets carried away, more sensitive souls may feel their sacred grounds impulsively trampled under foot.

The general atmosphere can be a sort of innocent self-centeredness that overlooks fine details… and raw nerves.

Warrior Mars has a special kinship with The Ram– Aries is traditionally considered the domicile, or natural home, of Mars.

This could be a good time to take aim at long-desired goals and set things in motion to realize your dreams.

Mars in Gemini is currently making a sextile to the Aries New Moon, which indicates an ease of flow between the energies of the involved celestial bodies.

Gemini Mars adds fuel (air) into the flames of already blazing Aries (fire) Sun/Moon, Mercury, Venus, and Chiron.

This could translate as intensified passion.

Intensified passion could lead to knee-jerk flaring tempers…

OR… Maybe this road leads to great orgasms.

Or somewhere infinitely in-between.

However, it’s likely to be note-worthy, marked with FIRE, and not so subtle.

In addition, Mars is square Neptune in Pisces.

All together, this combination can whip up a frenzy of exciting news, frenetic ideas, passionate thoughts and words, but there is also potential for persuasive, silver-tongued smooth-talking.

Analytical Gemini may back poetic, convincing speeches with facts and figures, making interactions especially compelling.

Make sure to do your own fact-checking.

Overall, the cosmic feel is exuberant, uplifting, and forward-focused.

One word of caution– Mars and Neptune can sometimes spell active deceit or fraudulent behavior.

Furthermore, Venus makes an exact square to Pluto today.

This could deepen intimacy and relational introspection, but the shadow side is a drumming up of underworld patterns and themes in terms of relationship.

When our deepest wounds (Chiron) get activated, if we haven’t been on top of our psychospiritual work (and sometimes even when we’ve been working our psychospiritual asses off), things can get messy. This can show up as possessiveness, jealousy, and manipulative behavior.

Just keep your eyes open, your feet on the ground, & follow up with due diligence.

Mostly, the New Moon highlights the emergence of exhilarating possibilities.

These opportunities require the courage to take action.

Pause (just for a blissful new moon moment) to plan your steps.

Then take heart, make a running leap, and let your dreams lift you to new heights!

Amber R. Balk, Ph.D.

I am an independent scholar and transpersonal consultant, specializing in embodying and implementing transpersonal and feminist values in real-world, practical situations. I believe academic pursuits are best if made widely accessible and when applied in ways which promote sustainability, contribute to increased awareness, and engender holistic sensitivity to both the outer environment and one's inner workings. I work with INDIVIDUALS in one-on-one sessions so they may empower themselves through deepening spiritual practice, accessing creativity, and attuning to self-understanding. Additionally, I work within GROUP contexts with people who endeavor to co-create social change through community action projects that honor the depth of subjective individuality while anchoring action within a more transpersonal, environmentally-minded context. I enjoy being a Hermit when I can and becoming more deeply familiar with this place we call home, beautiful Mother Earth.

This blog is a place to cover topics such as consciousness, spirituality, psychospiritual process, creativity, Grofian theory, Jungian thought, expanded states of consciousness, holistic health, dreamwork, symbolism, archetypes, synchronicity, and much more. I believe (and have experienced) that the microcosm reflects the macrocosm; as above, so below; as within, so without.
